About Alejandra

Alejandra serves as of counsel to the firm. Throughout her career, Alejandra has worked tirelessly on behalf of her clients. From 2008-2011 she worked at a small employment law firm in Hartford, CT assisting in the preparation and litigation of wage theft cases in federal court on behalf of low-wage immigrant workers. At the Legal Aid Society of Rockland County from 2011 through 2016, she represented hundreds of clients in eviction defense and mortgage foreclosure proceedings. As a Spanish-speaking attorney, Alejandra has been a strong advocate for language access and language justice for her clients and those in the community who have limited English proficiency.

Since 2016, Alejandra has served as Legislative Counsel to the Rockland County Legislature. In that capacity, she provides advice and counsel to Legislators in a variety of matters pending before the Legislature and drafts local laws and resolutions. During the pandemic, she provided counsel and advice on COVID-19 related matters including updates on CDC guidance, Department of Health orders and the Governor’s Executive Orders affecting public meetings. She also manages the legislative funding initiative for 25 non-profit organizations.

Alejandra graduated from Vassar College in 2001 with a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in Hispanic Studies, and later studied law at the University of Connecticut School of Law where she graduated in 2010 with a Juris Doctor and a Certificate in Law and Public Policy.  She is currently working towards a Advanced Certificate in Immigration Law from the CUNY School of Professional Studies. She is admitted to the bars of New York and Connecticut and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of New York and the District of Connecticut.

Since 2016, Alejandra has served as a Tenant Representative on the Rockland County Rent Guidelines Board and has successfully spearheaded the effort to keep rents affordable in rent stabilized units throughout Rockland County. From 2017-2019, Alejandra served as the Chair of the Rockland County Bar Association’s Immigration Committee, forging a partnership with Catholic Charities Community Services and their Liberty Defense Project (LDP). Under the LDP, attorneys are trained, mentored and provided with technical assistance on pro bono immigration cases assisting and representing dozens of Rockland immigrants.

In 2018, Alejandra graduated from Leadership Rockland and was the recipient of the RCBA Liberty Bell Award and the Rockland County Legislature’s Distinguish Service Award.
